We are pleased to share that our review article on the regulation of mitochondrial translocases has been officially published in Protein Science.
Mitochondria consist of thousands of proteins and every single one needs to reach its correct location inside the organelle. To get there, they use molecular gates called translocases. But not all of these protein machines are equally stable some subunits are short-lived by design, allowing cells to rapidly reshape the translocases themselves in response to stress. We review processes that regulate these gates and tune their activity to cellular demand.
Congratulations to Dr. Lea Bertgen and Prof. Agnieszka ChaciĆska!
