How mitochondrial stress affects protein synthesis? The latest publication in Cell Reports

How mitochondrial stress affects protein synthesis? In response to cellular stress, the synthesis of some proteins halts while others increase.

Dr Tomasz Stępkowski and colleagues led by Prof. Agnieszka Chacińska together with the researchers from the IMol Proteomics core facility led by Dr. Remigiusz Serwa, employed cutting-edge high-throughput omics methods to analyze thousands of nascent proteins synthesized within minutes.

Their latest publication in Cell Reports reveals how stress associated with cellular organelles, the mitochondria, impacts protein production, demonstrating an intricate and dynamic reorganization of the protein composition of the cell.
